"Mary Louise Juncker"
Born: November 10, 1956
Died: April 25, 2016
Mary Louise Juncker passed away at age 59 at 3:00 pm on April 25, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY, after a six-month battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and her close friends, Tony and Karyl Perkins. Mary was born November 10, 1956, in Evansville, IN, to Otis B. and Helen L. Allyn, who predeceased her. She was a life-long resident of Mt. Vernon, IN, where she was in the class of 1975 at Mt. Vernon Senior High School. After attending the University of Evansville for a year, on July 10, 1976, she married the love of her life, Kenneth J. Juncker, who survives her. She is also survived by her daughters, Anna L. Blankenbaker (David) of Parker City, IN, Rebecca A. Wildeman (Mark) of Plainfield, IN, and Dana M. Juncker of Indianapolis, as well as her sister, Emily Moore (Robert) of Indianapolis; and her granddaughters, Allison, Sarah, Claire and Rachel Wildeman and grandsons, Mordecai and Nicodemus Blankenbaker. She will be deeply missed by her in-laws, Mildred and Lloyd Juncker, and her many friends, neighbors and extended family members.
Mary was a wonderful wife and mother, and set an excellent example for her daughters. Mary loved working with children, and did so for many years as a Children’s Leader and Assistant Children’s Supervisor for Bible Study Fellowship and, more recently, as a preschool teacher at Susannah Wesley Nursery School. Mary was known for her graciousness, kindness, compassion, generosity, selflessness, strength, perseverance, intelligence, wisdom and courage. She was full of joy and had a zest for life; she greatly enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She laughed often and loved deeply. She was strong in her Christian faith, and worshipped for many years at Trinity United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, and later with Faith Bible Church and Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville. She considered herself “easy-going” because she trusted the Lord with her cares. Mary loved music and enjoyed playing the flute and piccolo in high school, and most recently, playing flute for the Wolfgang Orchestra and Chorus. Mary enjoyed walking and running outdoors. Beginning in 2009, she earned many medals for completing races including nine half marathons at Walt Disney World and other locations. Mary loved visiting Walt Disney World; it was a slice of heaven and a place of joy, peace and comfort for her. She particularly loved volunteering at Give Kids the World Village, a charity that makes it possible for children with life-threatening illnesses to visit Walt Disney World.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, IN, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2016, with visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN and from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time on Saturday at the Church, officiated by Rev. Jacob Juncker. Burial will be at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to either the Wolfgang Orchestra and Chorus, Inc., P.O. Box 829, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620 or to Give Kids the World Village, 210 S. Bass Rd., Kissimmee, FL 34746.
