Rev. Christopher Millay (B.S. The University of Findlay; M.Div. Duke University) was appointed as the Lead Pastor of First UMC in 2015.
Originally from Evansville, Indiana, he lives in Mount Vernon with his wife, Joy, and their three children.
Aside from leading worship on Sunday mornings, Rev. Millay is a self-published author who volunteers with middle and high school students to prepare them for National Novel Writing Month each year. He also drives the school bus for Thrive Afterschool, Inc., plays acoustic guitar with the First UMC Praise Team, and organizes the congregation's community garden to provide neighbors and friends with fresh produce.
Commissioned as a Probationary Elder of the former South Indiana Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in 2003 and ordained as an Elder in 2006, Rev. Millay has served local churches across Indiana and North Carolina since 1999.
