Bridges of Hope, a ministry of First United Methodist Church, is located at 601 N. Main Street in Mount Vernon, IN. Bridges of Hope was established in 2006 by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to empowering artisans' lives by providing a dependable and fair market for their products. The goal is to promote meaningful lives for the artisans and producers of developing countries around the world and to encourage dignity and respect. We are open on Tuesdays from 10 am - 2 pm, Saturdays from 10 am - 2 pm, or you can schedule an appointment by calling 812-831-3770 (store) or 812-453-4767.
MISSION
The mission of Bridges of Hope is to provide a Fair Trade market for artisans and producers who are in Fair Trade partnerships built on trust. Tell the stories of mission to our customers allows us to share the love of Christ and link our mission to the Gospel and God's call for social justice.

The primary focus of Bridges of Hope is to support artisans and farmers in developing regions of the world through sustainable economic practices by purchasing fairly traded products. Bridges of Hope joins Christ in His mission that integrates discipleship, evangelism and social action, and works toward both spiritual and social transformation. By supporting artisans and their families, Bridges of Hope provides resources for better health care, education, and save living conditions, while restoring a sense of hope, joy, dignity and self respect.

Bridges of Hope sells Fair Trade baskets, jewelry, scarves, accessories, home decor, coffee, tea, chocolate, nativities, ornaments, toys, games, musical instruments, greeting cards and much more. By purchasing Fair Trade products, you become part of a worldwide movement that cares about God's call to mission and social justice.
