SWNS News and Updates

What a busy few weeks it has been since the last Bridge!
There are so many opportunities in the fall to teach the
students about this wonderful world God created.

We had visits from real piglets brought in by Dale Crumbacher. The students got to pet and observe 8 week old piglets. There were lots of squeals of delight from our students as they heard the piglets squeal and snort and root around in the wood chips.

MV Firefighters brought over the Fire Safety House where the students learned to “Stop, Drop, & Roll” and not to play with lighters or matches. They learned about how to crawl and safely get out if there is smoke inside. They talked about calling 911 and to discuss with their families where their safe family meeting place is if they must leave their house. Students learned “Don’t Hide, go outside!” The Pre-K classes also walked over to the fire station to see where the firefighters go between calls. What a nice facility! We are grateful for all these firefighters do to serve our community. They are real heroes!

The Pre-K classes also went to Mayse Farm Market to see firsthand the beauty of the fall. God certainly chose beautiful colors and interesting crops to share with us in the fall. Students got to spend time exploring on a nice autumn morning. Special “Thanks!” to Beth Strecker and Bob Royer for being the chauffeurs and to all the parents/grandparents who went along!

Andy White came and taught the Pre-K students about camping. He has some really neat camping items. He can carry his whole kitchen inside of a pot! They roasted marshmallows and enjoyed s’mores.

We held our Princess & Super Hero parades around the church and library blocks.
Students dressed up in costumes and enjoyed walking through the leaves and around town as passersby and tailgaters enjoyed the parade.

Thanks for your continued support! We are grateful.
